Teaching Philosophy

As an educator I believe in an inclusive space with attainable goals specific to the students. My classroom is equitable and meets the student where they are and raises them to their potential. When lesson planning I implement Universal Design for Learning and love inquiry-based projects.  I have a personal interest in Inclusive Education and English as a Second Language support, and have worked closely with students regarding their literacy goals. When assessing students, I recognize that having a home and school life balance can be tricky, so by providing ample time in class to complete assignments with fair expectations, students are encouraged to develop time management skills.
